With the end of May, 2010 comes to an end my first month of corporate life. To put the experience in words would be a bit difficult, but let me give it a shot too.
Aahh… no more waking up till late night & sleeping till afternoons.. no more lame excuses of food poisoning or stomach upset..
Reaching the company campus dressed in formals, all jittery, excited & “hopeful” at the same time.. well, the “hope” has no guarantee of how long it stays within.
The first two days of induction & company welcome seems so much prestigious as honoring the guests, but it is only once the “honeymoon period” is over that we realize it was just a commercial ad with lots of “terms & conditions applied”.
Your team fellows, seniors, staff appears to be quite co-operative, friendly, helpful, approachable & pleased to have us with them. Although that is also valid only till the training time gets over, which we used to call our “last tension-free days of life”..!
However, this is how I have come to realize the ground realities & bitter truth of corporate life with the end of my first month of job, successfully, as I have received my first salary, which is the only good thing that has happened to me in the last few days.
The weekends are the only bliss, for which we wait the whole week eagerly.. because that’s the only time when we can wash clothes, iron them, buy grocery, meet friends, shop etc.
